When an aircraft goes down, two primary objectives are the focus of the aircraft industry. One is to locate where the flight went down, and the other is how did this happen. With the development of Deployable Flight Recorders, both questions can be solved with relative ease. This report discusses the development of the Accident Investigation Tool for Leonardo DRS and the implementation of the algorithm used to retrieve the data from the flight recorder after an accident. It also talks about the areas where the tool still needs to be worked on and how the developers can go about finishing it.
