ABSTRACT
Computers and other devices often interact with each other using a complex system of communication networks that reach all corners of the globe. Users rely on the ongoing functionality of these networks and as such network administrators and other providers must ensure reliability and efficiency of the different types of connections. To this end, this report proposes the development of a set of network diagnostic tools with a user-friendly, flexible interface that can be used to diagnose common network issues within DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP communications. By re-developing, improving and modifying various existing diagnostic tools and re-packaging them in an interactive web based interface, features such as filtering and graphical display can be added. It is hoped that this type of toolkit will enhance and improve the efficiency of diagnosing network issues.
