In this project a system is established to research why network administrators do not remediate system vulnerabilities which they potentially could, and some initial results are collected. Building upon a previous paper By Daniela Napoli, this system uses Censys to identify hosts vulnerable to one of the 6 vulnerabilities tested for, ranging from low to critical severity. After creating a private mail server, automation scripts were used to gather email addresses and distribute a survey to 3207 unique email addresses. From these emails a total of 9 survey responses were received. The results of these surveys are discussed and further steps in completing this research are considered.
