As part of my honours project I worked as a back-end developer with the Shopify Shipping team on a brand new project. By the end of the semester myself and the team had successfully reached the timeline of entering a closed-beta by September 2020. This report serves to document the planning, execution, and the wide range of newfound knowledge I gained over the term. Including but not limited to development with Ruby on Rails & graphQL, database optimizations, using data analytic tools, production debugging tools, and even pushing the newly created app to it’s limits with load testing tools!
