ABSTRACT
With more restaurants, bars, and activities to do than ever before, it becomes difficult to find out about new places to check out. Apps like Google Maps and Yelp are great at showing massive amounts of data about a certain place, but after chatting with a collection of people, it’s clear that these apps can sometimes overwhelm users with options. Spark was built as a wrapper over Yelp’s powerful APIs. Users can view nearby activities through a Tinder-like swiping page or a home page that applies filters to the search. The users should be able to view just enough data on the activity, so they can decide whether to save them or not. Each user would have a profile page that shows their personal information along with their saved activities; this gives Spark a similar feeling to a traditional social media app.
