Due to the pandemic, many people are struggling with their mental health at home. Since music is easily accessible, I thought music therapy would be a great method to help boost individual morale. For my honours project, I decided to build two machine learning models to detect a user's mood as well as the mood of a song. The model extracts musical features and sound waves from sound data in order to make its predictions. Once the mood is identified, a list of songs selected from Spotify are recommended to the user to elevate their mood through an interactive website.
