ABSTRACT
“DidUGo?” is a web-based productivity tool aiming to support university students in keeping themselves accountable throughout the semester. Although various attendance tracking applications exist, they focus solely on attendance status and do not allow users to utilize this information in a meaningful way. “DidUGo?” solves this problem by allowing students to enter reasons behind their absences and view the most common day, course and reason missed. Furthermore, for each course, students can compare average course attendance and final grade to overall average attendance and final grade through graphs to determine if a correlation between grades and attendance exists. Finally, “DidUGo?” aims to motivate students by allowing them to enter reflections for each class and review where the previous class left off. Without marks tied to attendance, it may be challenging to find the motivation to attend courses as the semester and life gets busy. The “DidUGo?” application tries to solve this in a fun way through in-app awards for attending all classes in a day, week and month. The focus of this project was to create “DidUGo?” to serve as the ultimate accountability tool that motivates students and provides them with meaningful statistics on their attendance so they can make any adjustments they feel necessary.
