ABSTRACT
This software addresses the importance of intrusion detection/prevention systems and the insecurities of a home network. The Home Network Monitoring Software is a host-based intrusion detection system intended to provide a visual representation of a home network with features to delve deeper into the low-level details within the network. Home Network Monitoring Software resembles the widely known packet analyzer Wireshark, the network security tool for man-in-the-middle attacks Ettercap, the popular network scanner Nmap, as well as the network intrusion detection/prevention system Snort.
